Dear Project Bethlehem Giving Tree Donors of 2014,
Thank you for shopping, wrapping, organizing, bagging your gifts and fighting traffic to deliver them so that the 438 families –1910 people – served by Project Bethlehem could wake up Christmas morning knowing that someone - YOU- cares.
In addition to these families, we’ve been able to provide gifts through the Giving Tree program for 49 emergency families (191 people)(so far) who came to us too late to adopt out, several of them living in hotels and fire victims. The Giving Tree also has provided gifts to 30 families – another 100 people – who are Lazarus House program participants or volunteers and our Shelter guests.
This makes ~527 families -over 2230 individuals – whom we’ve been able to serve this Christmas because of your generosity.
Thank you again ~ the Project Bethlehem staff and volunteer team!
Project Bethlehem helps families in the Greater Lawrence area with gifts for Christmas. We contact families who are in need and ask for a wish list of items for Christmas gifts. The families are then "adopted" by compassionate people who are willing to purchase these items, individually wrap them and deliver them to Lazarus House, where they are distributed to the families just before Christmas. In many cases, these are the only Christmas gifts these families will receive. Last year, due to the generosity and kindness of many, 415 families were able to celebrate Christmas through Project Bethlehem. If you are interested in participating in this wonderful program, please fill out the Project Bethlehem Online Donor Registration Form. If you would like additional information, contact the office at (978) 269-5284 or email email@example.com.
Holiday Giving Tree
Through your generosity, the Holiday Giving Tree provides Christmas presents for low-income families and individuals that need emergency holiday assistance or are involved with Lazarus House and the programs that are provided to serve people in need. For many, it is the first time they are able to give their children a Christmas present. The donation list contains a variety of items, including sizes for clothing, underwear, socks, etc. So that we can be sure the item you generously donate is age and size appropriate for each person, please do not wrap these gifts, but feel free to include wrapping paper with your gift donation.
To schedule your Giving Tree Gifts drop off time please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Drop Off location is at The Good Shepherd Center, 412 Hampshire St., Lawrence, MA 01841.
The last day for gift drop off is December 16, 2013.
We are also happy to answer questions you may have about setting up a Giving Tree for your church, family or organization. Email us at the address above or call 978-269-5207.
Holiday Food Orders
When most of us think about the holidays, we look forward to warm and cozy times shared with family and friends; beautiful times, wonderfully shared moments. But for those people who are struggling, the holidays can be a particularly difficult time of year. You can create a Holiday Food Box that will be directly distributed to families who will be delighted to receive them. Long after the food has been used will be the memories that people who did not know cared enough to assist in making their family holiday better. We provide the family of four with enough food throughout the holiday weekend. Call (978) 332-5013/5014 to arrange a drop off time. $70 donations to purchase a complete Holiday Food Box for a family of four (including Turkey) may be made by online or by check and mailed to: Lazarus House, PO Box 408, Lawrence, MA 01842.
