The Feinstein Foundation will match a portion of all food and dollar donations received by Lazarus House between March 1 - April 31, 2010. Please consider a donation during this timeframe - the $1 Million Dollar Challenge continues to add value particularly this year given the difficult economy. Lazarus House Ministries provides the broadest continuum of services to those in need in our area. Our guests are empowered to overcome poverty and crisis, to become more productive members of the community.

We help people take charge of their lives, rebuild their families and move beyond poverty, out of crisis and into the mainstream.

Since opening its doors as a temporary homeless shelter in 1983, Lazarus House Ministries has been fighting poverty from its base in Lawrence, MA, one of the poorest areas in the country, and the poorest in New England. Over the years our supporters have responded to the needs of this community by providing the financial support to expand our programs to provide the necessary services that allow us to provide comprehensive solutions that positively impact more and more people in need.

Mission Statement
Lazarus House, Inc. is a spiritually based organization that welcomes all in the name of God. It provides a continuum of care encompassing, but not limited to food, shelter, clothing, advocacy, job training, medical and dental care, a listening ear, a welcoming heart, the restoration of dignity and self respect to the poor and needy.

"I, your Lord and Teacher, have just washed your feet. You, then, should wash one another's feet. I have set an example for you so that you will do just what I have done for you." - John 13: 12-15
