Clothing

"I've been volunteering at the thrift store ever since I moved to Lawrence 13 years ago. It's economical for the neighborhood so they can get cheap clothes and free food. The community and Lazarus House are mutually benefited by the thrift stores." - Victoria

An outlet for bargains, a donation center, and a place where neighbors can shop with dignity and enjoy both camaraderie and friendship, we operate three stores dedicated to providing high quality goods at a low-cost to people in one of the poorest areas in New England.

The Good Shepherd, St. Martin of Tours and St. Frances & St. Clare thrift stores are much more than stores. These hubs of activity provide an incredible opportunity to strengthen the neighborhoods where they exist by selling affordable items, offering jobs and volunteer opportunities to local residents and funding life-changing programs within the Lazarus House ministry. In some cases, the items in the store are given freely based on the individual's need and ability to pay. Everything in each thrift store is donated by individuals, businesses, churches, synagogues, schools, civic groups and other generous groups.

From silverware to mobile homes, people worldwide are choosing to freecycle rather than discard or drop off. Membership is free. If you are a Freecycle user and are willing to pick up housewares, clothing, toys, etc. and drop them off at one of our three thrift stores. New to freecycle?
