Project BethlehemProject Bethlehem is a program sponsored by Lazarus House to help families in the Greater Lawrence area with gifts for Christmas. We contact families who are in need and ask for a wish list of items needed for Christmas gifts. The families are then "adopted" by compassionate people who are willing to purchase these items, individually wrap them and deliver them to Lazarus House, where they are distributed to the families just before Christmas.
In many cases, these are the only Christmas gifts these families will receive.
Last year, due to the generosity and kindness of many, 415 families were able to celebrate Christmas through Project Bethlehem.

GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT BETHLEHEM
The following are suggestons for your Project Bethlehem family. These are only guidelines; we rely on your goodness and your judgment.
PURCHASING GIFTS
- We ask that you purchase at least one article of clothing as well as what the family has requested. Feel free to do as much as you can beyond that.
- When we interview each family, we try to be conservative with what they have requested.
- We will provide food for the family so you do not need to purchase any food.
WRAPPING GIFTS
Each gift should be individually wrapped and tagged with the individuals name on each gift. All gifts should be placed in either a large trash bag(s) or box(es) and on the outside of the bag(s) or box(es) please place the family number you will be given when you receive the information about the family. If there is more than one box or bag, please put the number and indicate 1 of 3, 2 of 3 etc.
DELIVERY OF GIFTS
When you are called regarding your family, you will be given a drop off date. Please try to get the packages to us by that date. Drop off times and sites are as follows:
