Greetings friends and family,

I'm honored to be running the 2009 Boston Marathon on April 20th in support of the Lazarus House of Lawrence. The Lazarus House does many wonderful things for the community including a 31-bed emergency shelter, food pantry / soup kitchen, free medical and dental care, job training, and a home for those living with the AIDS virus. The money we're raising will go directly to renovating and restocking the newly purchased food pantry.

Just recently I had the opportunity to tour the food pantry and was very impressed. I was blown away by the commitment of the Lazarus House to give dignity back to those in need of a helping hand. Many in the community have to sometimes choose between paying rent or buying food. To know that a place like the Lazarus House exists and is there to help brings great comfort.

I'm grateful to be a member of the "Hunger Strikers" team this year and help in this wonderful cause. This is my first marathon and I'm planning on blogging about this exciting challenge. If you're interested, please check out my blog at http://kellybuckley.blogspot.com/
